Porsche 944 Clutch

Once the 911 was done, it was time to jump on the next project….a 944 clutch. The car started making some clunking noises when letting off the accelerator, which is a pretty strong indicator that the rubber center’d clutch is starting to fall apart. Clifford’s new owner came by to have an exhaust leak fixed that has been nagging the car for awhile now. It was obvious there was leakage around 3 of the exhaust ports, but we weren’t really sure why. The previous owner had done a recent head gasket, so I suspected a possible stud issue. Last night I kept running ideas through my head of what could be causing our full heat issue in the 951. While the CCU and vacuum solenoid seemed like obvious candidates, I have never really seen one fail like this. This morning before I headed to the office, I started testing the units. Finished up the 951 last week, but due to the Porsche Club Race, I was tied up since then and couldn’t give an update! On To The 951

After I put the pressure tester on the coolant system I was able to locate our coolant leak. Pretty common for the front port on the waterpump to start leaking from the oring. 951 Work

Last night a beautiful 951 came in for some service. Sadly, it isn’t driven much, but the car is in great shape. We are going to go through a few maintenance items on it (oil change, spark plugs, sway bar bushing, coolant oring, etc), install a Vitesse Racing k26/6 tuning chip, and a manual boost controller once everything is sorted out.
