Porsche 924s Timing Belt/Front Seal Replacement Rennsport Kansas City

Had this nice little 924s in the shop this week for a timing belt job. Pretty straight forward job, but once I got the car in the air, it was apparent that we needed to replace the front engine seals as well. This car was bought new by the only owner from Art Bunker in 1987 🙂

A few pesky leaks.

And a few more with the timing and balance shaft belts off. Ugly. Yes that is RTV you see on the pan gasket….I won’t go there, lol 🙂 Next off comes the timing belt cover.

A view from the top 🙂

Belt covers off, and ready to replace some seals, then clean everything up.

Oil pump drive sleeve, oring, and wiper seal replaced on the front of the crankshaft.

And seals replaced, cleaned up a bit, and ready for new belts and rollers! Even got to use the big parts washer on this one to help clean up the components 🙂

Now I’m really down. You knock out the seals, belts and stuff in a couple of hours, while (after two weeks) I’m still putting together a parts list to order.

Stop taking so many coffee breaks and you could be done by now! 🙂
