Tundra Antennae

An odd site in the shop I know, but a buddy down the street snapped off the antennae on his 08 Tundra, and it required a full harness back to the interior to repair the issue. What nice trucks, I love my 2500hd, but this thing is sweeeet. Oh and it’s big….arh arh arh. First thing to do was to start pulling the unit out of the fender. Had this little Cayenne come in the other day with a brake warning light on. With 80k miles on it, I think these were at least the original rotors, maybe the original pads if it was a highway mile vehicle. The rotors were worn far enough they were about ready to go through to the venting. Big 350mm rotors. If you look towards the bottom of the rotor, you can see the shiny lip, indicating how worn these rotors were. …

Been waiting on a turbo core to be rebuilt for awhile, and it finally showed up today, so I set about replacing the turbo on this 944. The compressor nut had come off and the turbo essentially ate itself due to the loose tolerances. Not a good situation, but I think we have it under control. Luckily we had a couple of cores laying around so we didn’t have a dead car sitting at the shop. Bibbed up and ready …

Boxster Clutch

Drove down south of Louisburg today to diagnose a Boxster that was immobile. Figured out pretty fast that the clutch was completely shot. I assumed the disc hub had separated from the friction ring as there was zero movement from the car with the clutch disengaged. We had it towed up to the garage, and I started tearing it apart.
