Porsche 996 Fender Rolling

Had this 996 come into the shop yesterday after rubbing the sidewalls off his new 295 tires. Turns out the champion wheels and champion springs are a little too low for the wide rear tire. The issue is the underside of the fender lip protrudes at about a 90 degree angle, which can cut into a wider tire. Rolling the fender will take this inner lip, and roll it upwards away from the tire.

The fender roller slowly applies increasing pressure as you roll it back and forth in the fenderwell, thus bending the inner lip.

Which ends up looking a little something like this. You can see the difference in the non rolled section and the rolled section. It usually doesn’t take much!

Is that the tool from Eastwood? I had looked at those, but could never bring myself to pull the trigger without knowing if they were worth it.

    Hey John,

Yes it is. It is a proper fender roller and works fantastic. The issue with it is it does not fit the porsche spacing, so I have modified an adapter to work with it. One of these days I will cut off the hub that is on it, and make a Porsche specific one as that is all I really roll in regards to fenders.
