Boxster Coolant Leak
Ok, obviously we are having a glitch in the system. This is the 2nd time I have created an entire post, only to hit Publish, and it posts a blank entry and deletes my written post. Grrrrr….. 996 Continued
After looking into a coolant light issue, we found the coolant tank was pretty much empty. The tanks are prone to cracking in the 996’s, usually along the backside or bottom near the level sensor. They aren’t a ton of fun to get out, not difficult, but it takes some manipulation to get it angled just right to come out. When you replace the tank you want to also install an updated radiator cap (black vs. the original blue cap). …

Got a call Sunday afternoon about a Boxster that had overheated and needed to get back on the road. We had the car towed in and I started tearing into it. This was a car with about 80k miles on it, which had not had it’s major services done……ever from what I can tell. Unfortunately, a $40 drive belt caused about $1,100 in damage.
