Porsche 944 Turbo Air Conditioning Repair Rennsport Kansas City
Hot, hot hot!
This turbo S came in to the shop this week to fix a non working AC System. Since a few other areas of the system had been previously repaired and he still had a leaking A/C system, it was time to go after the compressor and condensor and seals.
Up and ready to go.
When I removed the batwing I found this on the condenser. Not sure how anything would hit that since the bottom of the car is covered, but never the less, it gets replaced.
Out of the car.
And the new one installed in place with new seals.
Then I installed a newly rebuilt compressor and drier along with all new seals.
And vacced the system down, let it stand for 30 minutes, then charged it. We had a little issue with a possible bad A/C relay as well, but a replacement relay appears to have fixed that problem.

Didn’t that car suffer a bent rim after hitting a pothole, could that have enough force to bend the condenser?

Dear Tia Sophia,
Thank you for your question. It is quite astute coming from a dog. The incident you mentioned happened when I hit a piece of steel (not a pothole) with the right rear tire while driving home from Wing night. The steel was kicked up by the rear tire and punctured the sidewall as well as damaging the lip of the wheel rim. However, it had nothing to do with the damage to the condenser.
BTW – The a/c is super cold now. Tell your owner he did a good job.
