Update: Road America 2011

Last Monday/Tuesday we made the annual trip to Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI for the Nordstern region PCA DE. A fantastic event that we look forward to every year. It is always nice to escape the 100 degree Kansas heat to head north to a more suitable climate! Typically we head up Sunday morning and make the 10 hour trip up. Run Monday and Tuesday, and head for home Tuesday evening, putting us into KC early Wednesday morning.

We had another big group head up from the Kansas City area, about 6 or 7 cars total, and we met up with some good friends from South Dakota who brought 5 cars.

Our normal upper level paddock area was blocked off, but the crews had already set up the canopies on the lower level for the following weekend’s race, so we were lucky enough to be able to use those. Off the cement, and under the shade really keeps the temps down. Monday morning was a little thin waiting for everyone to show up in the morning. We had to block half the tent as people kept trying to move in on our space, ROFL!

Doesn’t get much better than this.

Dave about to be passed by some BMW’s.

Tia the faithful track dog checking lap times.

John, Chris, and Tim coming through the corner.

Val shot a few hundred pictures, so if I get time later, I’ll go through them and post some more.
