SPEC Boxster Build Version 2

Over the last couple of weeks I have been scouring the countryside for a decent 99 boxster to build into another customer SPEC Boxster Race Car. After numerous trips and failed PPI’s, we finally found a 45k mile car in Omaha a few weeks ago and retrieved it. I drove it back from Omaha, pulled in the front door and starting tearing it apart. No time to waste! Tan interior is in great shape and for sale 🙂 I pulled …

Had this 2011 Challenger come into the shop for a Hearthrob Cat-back exhaust install. It all went pretty smoothly, with the exception of the rear hangers which I think could have been designed much better. The stock exhaust is a bit bulky to say the least Front clamps are easy to remove, drop the exhaust from the hangers, and out of the car. New exhaust ready to go in! And the old exhaust out of the car. First install the …

Had this little Gallardo in the shop the other day for a simple battery change and to open the valves on the exhaust. Battery is under the front bonnet and behind the trunk liner. You can see part if it behind the access panel for jumping the car. A bit of work to remove the cd changer, trunk liner, etc and you can get to the battery for replacement. Pretty standard replacement really. Then it was time to open up …

Chumper brings home the win!

A couple of weeks ago we loaded up and headed to Hastings NE for 18 hours of chump car racing. After pulling the car out of storage after a year of sitting, we had a lot of major work to do which took a couple of weeks of prep. The initial outing at Autobahn raceway was not good, the guys lost a fuel pump and had some running issues that they could not figure out. Our outing to Hastings was …

Wes’ CT70 Rebuild

Wes picked up this little bike a few months ago to start his own restomod project. He is going Cafe Racer theme with this one, so it should be pretty cool! This is probably one of the roughest bikes we have torn down so far. Everything was rusted together quite badly. It all cleaned up nicely in the bead blaster though, and the current state is looking great. This bike has lived a rough life. I believe this bike’s engine …

Parts Trip To Oklahoma Foreign
Hooked up BWT to the trailer on Thursday and headed down to Oklahoma City to Oklahoma Foreign auto parts to pick up some much needed parts. Probably not good to get spoiled driving a brand new rig that can roast the tires with a 24 foot trailer behind it. It just don’t care what is behind it. HP sells cars, torque wins races 🙂 Jager ready to roll! 5 down, 5 back, and a few hanging out at OK foreign. …

Introducing The New Shop Apprentice

A couple weeks ago after racing at MAM, we came home via a trip to the breeder. We had planned to get a new puppy in September from the same breeder we got Tia from, but the dog we were breeding now has Diabetes that got so bad she had to be put down 🙁 Her name was Jäger. So we found another breeder north of KC and went to check them out on the way home. Hint: Don’t go …

Because Racecar

Todd and I both bought a HUGE upgrade for our LS1 944’s this year. The cars are stupid fast on the race track, and in certain areas of the track, also a bit scary due to the lightweight and high speeds. We decided to tackle that this spring and see what it would do. We called up Kyle and Cody of Brooks Motorsports and had them work their magic. Their stuff runs on the NASA TT3 national champs car, so …

Mike’s CT70 Rebuild

Since the Honey Badger is having custom pistons made we are at a standstill on that project, so after seeing the orange bike, Mike brought his 1978 CT70 that he has had since new by for a refresh! This bike has about 3500 miles on it, so it is well used! His kids grew up on it, so it has it’s share of dents and bent handle bars etc, but in true Mike fashion, everything has been well cared for …

Val’s CT70 Rebuild

With the orange CT70 out of the way, we found another beat up example to get running for Valerie. This example is a 1972 CT70HK1. The H models came with the 4 speed manual engine, but well, that is out of here. Wes was able to get that engine up and running after a little carb work, so it will be set aside for another project. To help with the learning process of being on a bike, we decided to …
