Charging heats the plates in the battery, batteries do not like temperature extremes.  This is a very nice car that was left on a charger unattended and boiled the electrolyte out.  When they boil over a lot of stuff gets devoured by the acid, the battery was ruined, the car won’t start, and someone has to clean that caustic crap outta this trunk, and the box re-coated to keep the caner out.  You can see at the seam where metal has started to …

Had a little speedster come in from the west coast last week via Intercity Transport. When the transports come through, it is always fun to see what is on them. It is usually a mix of neat cars. Unfortunately, there are very few Porsches where I don’t look up in the trailer and just kind of ….”meh” Seen a hundred of them. Occasionally you’ll come across a Carrera GT which are pretty cool. A modified 997TT and a 993TT didn’t …

—What’s your name? –“My name’s Roosevelt E. Roosevelt.” —Roosevelt, what town are you stationed in?. –“I’m stationed in Poontang.” —Well, thank you, Roosevelt. What’s the weather like out there? –“It’s hot. Damn hot! Real hot! Hottest things is my shorts. I could cook things in it. A little crotch pot cooking.” —Well, can you tell me what it feels like? –“Fool, it’s hot! I told you again! Were you born on the sun? It’s damn hot! I saw – It’s …

This has been an ongoing project for some time now. The car came in with a horrible knock in the motor after the motor was run 4 quarts low on oil. Now common sense always tells us what the outcome of this will be. We worked with the owner to try and do some cheap options first to see if they would solve the issue, but in the end, the cheapest way always ends up being the most expensive way. …

So the tank is cleaned and coated inside: and out: Fuel smell in the cabin is corrected by rebuilding the petcock. How to get the retaining ring out: Looks and …

This 2000 M5 is just friggin cool. V8 engine and manual trans.  Comes in with rough idle and CEL showing open circuit bank 2 vanos. Bank 2 solenoids are behind this cover. with the cover off we can see the oil leaking into this housing so new “square” o-rings are installed onto the solenoids after they are pulled and open circuit found a bit back That takes care of that, this weekend I’ll install another solenoid in line with the oil …

Had to drop the pan and rear crank bearing to do this rear main seal, and look what came in the kit: Maybe I am late to the party but this was my first time seeing these.  Screw em in, pop the pan gasket over, then slide the pan up and everything is in place.  Put in the other bolts, unscrew these, pop in last 4 bolts and you are done. wish those came in every kit!

Things have been busy with the driving season under full swing! Thanks for all the support!
