After lowing the 997.2 last week, we just had to do something with that dull exhaust note 😉 I called up Alex and had him send me a center muffler bypass pipe 😀 You’ve seen this here before, but….well….a little review. No need for a lift, this one can be done on the ground. Shop supervisor checks the welds on the new pipe to make sure they pass muster. Tongue out seal of approval. Just to prove how easy this …

Got all my parts in for the C4 project, and this is the final outcome 🙂 I really like driving this car now 😀

Had this 996 in last week for a post purchase inspection. The car turned out to be pretty clean other than needing a new set of tires and…..a leaking RMS/IMS situation. Not good. Well, good for dealer 30 day warranties I guess! The leak was actually a little worse this week, so good thing we were taking care of this now. After pulling out the transmission. Note the engine support bar is needed since the transmission acts as the other …

Awhile back I had posted about a fuel leak we had in this 911 after trying to revive it. We had pulled it out of a storage unit in town for the owner, to try and get it running so he can sell it. It was NOT built by us. Since it was about as cheap to replace the entire cell, versus shipping the old one back and forth and having a new bladder installed, we opted to just go …

Project 996 is finally to the point where the paint needed a lot of attention. If you remember when this car came in to us, it was not only in pieces, but also had been sitting outside for a long time. The water spots and dirt had pretty much become one with the paint, so we called in the professionals. Tim and Issac from KC Detailing took care of the paint for us on short notice. Even with them moving …

Time for some pre-winter maintenance on this 964 C4 🙂 First round will be suspension overhaul, including Chris Walrod bushings, Bilstein HD (also known as B6’s outside the states) shocks, and H&R lowering springs. Followed up with an alignment and MVI. Once that is done, then the motor/trans will come out, transmission sent off for rebuilding, and tackled a few minor things on the motor while it is out. As you can see, the monster truck ride height has to …

Had this nice little 964 come into the shop today for some brake pulsation issues. He had replace the pads and rotors about 300 miles ago due to pulsation/warped rotors, and then it was good for awhile before the pulsation returned under braking. My initial thought was that a caliper was hanging up, and after putting it in the air and spinning both front wheels, the front left was definitely hanging up. Hard to see in this picture, but the …

Went and grabbed this nice 09 997.2 PDK from a customers storage unit so we could install some lowering springs on it. The car just sat too high, so we needed to do something about that! mmmm pdk and sport plus 🙂 Starting with the fronts, out come the struts. We have seen this dozens of times before. Notice anything different about the .2 997? Let me help. No more simple brake pad changes 😉 Old strut torn down for …

Ignore that previous post, because I’m going to blow that apart with this one. Had these 6×15″ deep offset fuchs come in this week for some new valve stems and tire mounting. Turns out, mounting a valve stem in these little buggers is not as easy as it seems. There have been numerous discussions online about this issue, and it appears whatever the original valve stem was, that they are impossible to get. Not only are the valve stems a …

Got the tranny back awhile ago and finally got around to getting it put in the car. Transmission back up in the car. Then it was time to tackle the waterpump and engine mounts. Stuck way down there is the pump. A lot of stuff needs to be loosened to get it out. From below after removal. And the engine mounts. The old mounts had blown out and were sagging under the weight of the engine. And going back together. …
