We had to fix an exhaust leak on an SC the other day that was caused by a couple of loose header nuts. Pretty easy fix to drop down the exhaust and re-anneal the copper gaskets on that side. Friday was turbo day in the shop 🙂 Three 996TT’s, a 3.6L 965, and a 951. We have also become a full service Mini Cooper repair facility. Boy, they seem even smaller in person. It takes “mini” tools to work on …

I have seen this time and time again with Porsche CPO used cars. A poor inspection by the dealer, a CPO stamp, and put it on the lot as a perfect vehicle. The person getting hurt? The buyer, and Porsche themselves. This Cayenne Turbo was bought from a dealer down in Alabama where it was traded in, and the dealer CPO’d the car for resale. The CPO is the extended factory warranty that Porsche offers on approved used vehicles. It …

Prepped this little 21k mile gem for PCA Palooza here in a couple of weeks. Inspection, oil change, and brake flush and she is ready for a romp through the Arkansas hills. But wait, there’s more…..how about some new Bilstein HD’s? Lets see if we can get that done this week 🙂 Great to see the IA billet valve covers in place 🙂

Have you noticed your Porsche just isn’t up to the task any more? Are you ready to take it for a spin on a curvy road, but yet it just isn’t ever in the mood? Don’t worry, you aren’t alone, and we can help. This is a problem that faces many middle aged Porsches out there today, but most of them are just too ashamed to talk about it. Talking with your Porsche about ED may not be easy, but …

Karl has posted some of the work on this car in the past.  Just a quick update.  She is alive and kicking.  Got it started and took it for a “lot drive” this week.  We have also continued getting everything back together on the body of the car. Seems like even something a simple as the bumper is a challenge here.  The license plate lights we were able to polish out,  but the bumper deco and gaurds had to be replaced.  Since …

Had an ’02 Turbo in for a little minor repair and noted the headlights looked like this: Also noted the left front turn signal did not work. These are not what the car came in for and I couldn’t charge for it but I thought it enough of a safety issue to knock out gratis.  These things really took some sanding. Here is the after: The difference is night and day. Of course all the turn signals also work now.  We …

Replaced the hydraulic cam followers/tappets (or lifters as some people refer to them), on the Jetta GLS today. It has been seen in the past on the blog for clutch jobs, etc. Ahhh 2.0L’s of fury….or maybe furry. Hard to believe this car is about ready to roll 212k miles. Still looks like it has only 75k miles on it. With the intake and associated plumbing off, and the valve cover removed, we can see the camshaft and the followers …

Things keep rolling long here at the shop. I have been backing up on my blogging, so will try and catch up by the weekend. Not only have I been neglecting the blogging, but I have been neglecting MiniMoo. For those that don’t know MiniMoo (and i’m too lazy to find an actual picture of him), he is the toy hauler 2500HD that has been featured a time or two on the blog before. The 1-3 settings on the interior …

Pretty standard repair around these parts. A little white smoke out the exhaust, some odd running issues due to a vacuum leak. Meh, not the end of the world. Side of the engine gives you access to part of the OAS. And the top is the other part. And out of the car……..and because we can, we cut it open to inspect the innards. Which has a nice tear in it. Back together with a new OAS and we should …
