Last Monday/Tuesday we made the annual trip to Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI for the Nordstern region PCA DE. A fantastic event that we look forward to every year. It is always nice to escape the 100 degree Kansas heat to head north to a more suitable climate! Typically we head up Sunday morning and make the 10 hour trip up. Run Monday and Tuesday, and head for home Tuesday evening, putting us into KC early Wednesday morning. We …

Busy Week

The PCA club race and DE is coming up this coming weekend, so this week should be pretty busy. I was back from St Louis no sooner than 15 minutes before the first car showed up for service. 2 hours later, I had 3 sitting here, lol. Back for an oil change, set the boost controller, and a boost gauge. Boost controller hidden down under the glove box out of the reach of the driver….for a reason, lol. Up in …

Time for another summary post! I have been tied up with projects and haven’t had time to get the blog updated. Last week a freind brought over his track prepped S2. Extremely well set up car, but it was ready for a belt job and a few other misc. items to get it back up to par. The patient on the operating table. Even though the belts only had about 9k miles on them, it had also been about 8 …

Been too busy to blog, but here is a weekly update! Last weekend was spent with good freinds running the KC BMW DE down at Hallett Raceway. I was lucky enough to get the project GT3RS out for some laps, and also instructed a student in his 2010 GT3RS and had a blast. What a great weekend. Al in his 996 GT3 chasing the pumpkin. Dave in his 997 Jim and Bryan going at it solo! Had a 996 in …

Finished an inspection on a 951 last week getting ready to do the upcoming Audi DE event at Heartland park.  A quick brake bleed, inspection, and replacement of a few missing door check bolts, and it was ready to rock!

Last weekend we spent at Hallett Raceway down in Oklahoma.  Had a blast.  Had some rain on Saturday, but Sunday turned out to be a great day.  The usual antics followed. Most of the crew.  Where is Anker?  Thanks to Bob for the pictures, lol! After getting those dang St Louis guys out of our garage.  Maybe we accidentally kicked Anker out with them? Wes flew to Dallas to pick up a new S2, then drove straight to the track.  …

Finally recovering from a long couple of days last weekend.  We had a very successful weekend, the weather was great, the turnout was good, and though there was some damage to sheetmetal, everyone went home safe. From a Saturday session.  (working on more videos, but youtube not only kills the video quality, but also limits the length to 10 minutes, so i have some editing to do) [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_SIsKx_AZA] [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSI-0HV4J0A] The sign says it all….. Some of the GT class going …

Finished the 993TT project tonight.  Got the belts replaced, and then installed the new Rennline pedals and gauge rings. Had an SP1/SPEC 944 come in for annual inspection and a few minor repair items in preparation for this weekends Club Race at Heartland Park.  Should start knocking that out tomorrow.   Also slapped the headlights in the 911 Targa and confirmed those as good.  New alternator will be here tomorrow, so I plan on getting that installed and the oil changed …

Busy weekend here in the garage.  Had a bunch of projects show up that needed to be knocked out. I am chasing a vacuum issue with the HVAC system in the 928, and and electrical issue with the 911 Targa.   Had a 996 come in quick with a seatbelt buckle issue as well. First on the chopping block was a 996C4S for an oil change, de inspection, and brake flush. It now has ATE super blue running through it’s veins …

Knocked out a few misc. projects over the last couple days.  Lot of work this week and next with the club race/DE coming up, so it will be pretty busy for a couple of weeks.  Just got in a new diagnostic/service toy as well 🙂  All porsches from roughly 1989 (s2) to current vehicles.  Fun toy. After diagnosing a bad turn signal switch on a 93 964 last weekend, I also knocked out some mud flaps for his daily driver …
