Had this Pepper come in this week for a full brake job. At about 70k miles, pads and rotors were pretty well shot. Wes pulling apart the front caliper/rotor assembly. Pads had triggered the light and the rotors were below the spec for thickness. One thing people tend to ignore when doing these brake jobs is to clean up the pad retaining hardware. Over time the brake dust and rust build up, and can cause the pads to hang up …

Had this little Cayenne come in the other day with a brake warning light on. With 80k miles on it, I think these were at least the original rotors, maybe the original pads if it was a highway mile vehicle. The rotors were worn far enough they were about ready to go through to the venting. Big 350mm rotors. If you look towards the bottom of the rotor, you can see the shiny lip, indicating how worn these rotors were. …

For the last track event of the year, we needed to get new pads on the GTR before sending it out the door. Got them knocked out in good time, buttoned up a few other things on the car, and sent it to Eagle’s Canyon. Big brembos and slotted rotors. Ron used up pretty much all of the pads that he could possible use on this last set. Titanium backing plates help disperse the heat and keep it away from …

DE in 1 week! Our annual pilgrimage takes us to the Northstern Region’s HPDE at Road America. We have been doing this for many years, and wouldn’t miss it! Front brakes coming apart. And some fresh pads 🙂 Repeat in the rear, …

Somehow  a 1999 MB 320 showed up.  So I did a full brake job on it and sent it on it’s way 🙂  Luckily, the owner also has a Boxster S 🙂 The rears were about 30% remaining, but the fronts were almost down to the metal….somehow the pad sensor light had not gone off yet….odd.  Also, luckily this MB did not require the Star Diagnostics to do the brake job.
