Weather has really killed our progress on the 951 project! Well, I dropped the ball on taking pictures on this project as we were trying to knock it out as quick as possible. Rich brought the beast over this morning so we could do the work on the lift. I believe this is the reason he wussed out on getting to Renntreffen in time, because his coolant exited the engine quite rapidly one day. Yup….electrical issues.  Joy.  There is nothing cheap about paying someone to diagnose an electrical issue.  I had a 944 come in today which the owner had just purchased.  It is a nice 60k mile, 1 owner car, but it has sat for the last 5 years.  The windows didn’t work, the blower motor didn’t work, the sunroof didn’t work, etc.  Another shop had diagnosed it as a bad ignition switch.  The problem, is that it is really rare for an …

Busy Weekend Again

After the Donkey left on Saturday, a few more rolled in.  I had some quick work to do on our 997TT project to get it ready for Hallett next Saturday. Then came in a 996TT (also headed to Hallett) for a clutch accumulator and a brake fluid flush.  I should take stock in 996TT clutch accumulators.  This will be the 3rd one this month. Finished up the RMS and Diff bearings a few nights ago.  Still need to knock out a wheel bearing on the right side and it should be ready to go.  I think the output shaft having play caused additional stress on the cv axle and bearing on that side as well due to the slight wobble the shaft must have had. New bearings installed, diff in place, and gearbox assembled. Outer diff cover installed. Selector shaft installed. Ahhh much better, …
