Customer down the street came by today with a dead 964 that he had just bought. It came in to town on the flatbed, and after sitting for a couple weeks wouldn’t start. After getting the car fired up, and checking the charging voltage which was determined to be in spec, a quick battery replacement, and we were back in business.

Had this nice little 99 986 come in today for front brake pads. I noticed when I pulled it in that it also had a CEL and airbag light on, so those would need to be checked. A slew of codes wasn’t what I was expecting, but I cleaned some sensors and we will monitor it for a few weeks to see if anything changes. A day of blurry pics. Old stuff comes off. Knocked out some work on this 330xi the other day. The power steering rack was completely blown out, and since it had been driven dry, the pump was also shot. Nearly 200k miles on the clock, it definitely needs some work. Didn’t get many pictures of the rack R&R as my hands were covered in ATF most of time time, but it involves lowering the subframe down to get access to the rack. Last night Wes and I started work on the 65 Mustang that has been sitting for 10 years. We dropped the old gas out of the tank, pulled and replaced the sending unit, flushed the tank, and inspected it for rust. To our surprise, the inside of the tank is in excellent condition and needs no coating, so we buttoned that back together. Wes went after changing out the plugs and fogging the cylinders with oil. While I was working on the 951 today, Wes was pulling the cat out of this A4 which had separated at the turbo flange. Cat comes out the bottom after removing a lot of crap 😉 Weld was made and cat reinstalled and this car is ready to rock!
