Had this little R350 in this week for some rear airbag replacements. Blown rear airbags is extremely common on the MB vehicles, but don’t fear, it is a super simple job to replace them! Anyone with basic mechanical skills and general automotive knowledge on safely lifting and supporting a vehicle can change these out in minutes! First lift and support the vehicle so the rear axle is hanging off the ground. Pull the wheels off. Next, since you told your …

Had the tow vehicle in the shop last week for it’s big service to get ready for the season. Wouldn’t want the guys towing the chump car to break down! Oil change, transmission flush, fuel filter, rear brake pads/rotors, cabin filters, air filters, etc. This was a big service to get everything ready for the year. Some things we do a little early as annual maintenance, and others were mileage due. The fuel filter was due to be changed which …

Had this ML350 come into the shop after it broke it’s drive belt. I replaced the belt, idle, and tensioner rollers, but after doing that, found we had a huge oil leak coming out the front crank shaft seal. I pulled the front crank pulley off to see why it was leaking. Turns out there was a small piece of shredded belt that jammed between the seal and the pulley. I have never seen that before! Pretty beat up. And …

Had this MB C300 come into the shop this week to catch up on it’s Service A. A good inspection indicated it needed filters on top of the oil change, but all in all is a fairly basic service. Lots of inspection, etc. Engine intake box removed to replace the filters and change the oil. And upside down. And 2 new filters going in! Then it was time for an oil change. A change of the cabin filters and an …

Had a friend drop off his 97 SL600 for a quick service and CEL diagnosis. Really cool car! Unfortunately the CEL is due to a bad catalytic converter, so we are researching options for that right now! Big V12 engine! VROOOOOM A quick oil change. There was a non factory drain plug gasket used by whomever changed the oil last, so I hope that is where the oil leak is from. Cleaned up, and oil changed with the correct drain …

Had this MB C280 come into the shop for a broken trunk spring attachment and a pair of floppy mirrors. The trunk spring was actually easy, the welded tab the spring attaches to broke off, but there was another area for attachment that worked just fine. I had to disassemble the rear trunk, remove the spring, install the spring in the new location, mounting it in the orientation that it will not come off, then reattach the other end. No …

Got the parts in for our little 560SEC project this week and I got as much done as I could in the time we had the car. We had a leaking EHA valve that was puddling fuel on the intake and causing an interior fuel smell in the cabin. We also had a fuel pressure regulator that was not holding vacuum, and between the EHA valve and this, the car would stumble when first started. Then there were the rear …

Had this nice little 560SEC come into the shop today for a few issues. A strong smell of fuel at random times, a clunking rear suspension, and a wiggy instrument cluster are among the issues currently. Once I popped the hood, I found a leaking cold start valve gasket, but I knew if I dug deeper, I would find bigger issues 😉 Leaking EHA valve. This is very common these old MB’s. I could actually physically watch the fuel drip …

Had this little 22k mile gem come in the other day for a quick pre purchase inspection. ok, this camera thing is going to drive me insane. Have another drink. Lin, add something to your coffee. One thing we noticed right away was the front corner had some paint work done. Nothing too bad, but you could see there was light damage at some point. We were so busy concentrating on the front corner, we almost skipped the rest of …

Yup, we dabble in Mercedes work as well 😉 This one came through for a quick oil change and inspection going into the winter months. Pretty straight forward with no surprises. Some fresh mobil 1 and filter, a top off of all the fluids, and we sent this one on it’s way.
