Sunday Shop Work

Today we headed over and wanted to tackle a big project at the shop. I found out earlier this week, that the raised asphalt slab inside the shop made it a little hard to get low cars into the shop due to clearance. So it had to go. Since it was just formed on top of the smooth concrete floor, it looked like it would peel up fairly easy…..well that part was true, it really wasn’t molded to the floor …

Dragon Comes Home

I hereby decree: By springtime, 993’s shall stomp us no longer.

We are right in the middle of getting everything in the new shop in order, and when we do we'll be making a big splash. You'll be able to follow all the latest news & goings-on here on our blog. Be sure to follow our Facebook page as well.

Daily driver business definitely isn’t beyond me, if it is broke, I’ll take a shot at it. This Mazda3 came in for squealing rear brakes. It appears something had gotten lodged in between the pad and the rotor and worn a groove. So it was time for new pads and rotors in the rear. The tires are cupping pretty badly as well, so this car likely needs an alignment. Old brakes ready to come off. To push the caliper pistons …

The New Digs

We have been pushed back a bit on getting into the new shop, but hopefully soon. James is still moving years and years of parts, equipment, cars etc to his new place which takes time, but eventually he will get everything moved out, and we will get in, set up, and ready to roll. Front and Side. Right side looking down from the upper office. Left side looking down from the upper office. Rear end of the building Storage. Engine …

Had another car come in from Boys Town (only one guy will get that joke) to take care of some noise from the rear of the vehicle. It also had a CEL light (P0105 and P0128) on with a couple of faults. The P0105 can pop on due to a dirty throttle body or a bad MAP sensor. Since cleaning the throttle body is free.99, I decided to yank it and take care of that. The P0128 is a coolant …

Of course this kind of stuff never happens when it is moderately cool out, but rather when the temps are constantly over 100 degrees. Squeaks, our 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ, decided to only blow air out the defrost vents earlier this week. Controls would not do anything. While the AC was still blowing, when it is 105 out, not having that airflow across your body makes it seem a lot hotter in the vehicle. There are a couple of …

944T Part 6:

Well everything was going good, got the car back together, idled numerous times to burp the coolant and burn off any excess old oil and such off the headers. A nice leisurely test drive this morning around the block….2 blocks from home, round the corner….blap, it dies. This stuff can never happen to me when Val is home so I could tow it home easily, lol. Looks like the fuel pump took a poop. After a couple of hours of …

Slow Day

Have a few other projects I need to take care of today. VF is sending out the air filter heat shield that was missing from the kit, so that will take a few days to get I am sure, and also the ecu is going back and forth in the mail for flashing, so waiting on that as well. Probably won’t do much until later this afternoon and evening when I finish running the lines up into the engine bay …
