993 Rear Wheel Bearing
Brought in a buddy’s 993 tonight to fix a rear wheel bearing that was making some noise. Brake caliper and rotor off. Axle nut removed. Getting the axle out is the tricky part as the inboard end hits both the subframe and the transaxle….. Outer hub off, and the outer section of bearing in pieces. Hard to tell by the blurry picture, but the outer race is pretty chewed up. Old bearing completely removed. Pressing the new bearing in place. …

997TT Oil Change, Brake Flush…and…..
Mobile service calls again. Had to get the car ready for MAM this Friday. Started by changing the oil….. Unfortunately, when I got underneath the car, this is what I found. Dried coolant everywhere. The culprit. A loose hose clamp under the intake manifold. Busy Weekend Again
After the Donkey left on Saturday, a few more rolled in. I had some quick work to do on our 997TT project to get it ready for Hallett next Saturday. 996C4S Oil Change/Rattle in Engine Bay
Had a buddy drop off his 996C4S tonight for an oil change in preparation of a trip. As soon as I started the car, I noticed a rattling coming from the engine. Immediately IMS jumps into your head, but I didn’t think it could make that much noise and keep running, lol. The quick diagnosis…..shut the car off and close the driver’s door…….rattle. PSS9 Adjustments
Saturday morning I knocked out an oil change on an 05 Boxster right away after PCA breakfast, and then had a buddy bring by his 996TT that was having some erratic suspension behavior when it would hit bumps. The kit had been adjusted previously to try and stop this behavior before it came to me, but they were definitely adjusted incorrectly. GT3 Seats and Tequipment Rollbar Install
Time to get rid of the living room furniture and put it to use, lol. Finally go the mounting hardware kit for the rollbar and did the install today. Since it was a nice day…..it was a driveway install 🙂 Pulling the old seats out. Old seatbelt bolt out. 996/Boxster Climate Control Display
One problem that is popping up in the 996/986 owners is the display unit on the climate controls going bad. Sometimes parts of the numbers do not illuminate/burn out, or you get a half moon or bleeding of the LCD screen. The solution use to be replace the control unit which ran about $350 plus install. 964 Turn Signal Switch
Replaced a turn signal switch assembly today on a friend’s 964 today. The turn signals stop canceling after making a turn, so something internal had broken in the switch assembly. Luckily I got it done before the sun melted the surface of the earth today. Since the garage was full, I had to quickly use the rapidly disappearing shade, lol. Disconnect the battery….. 997TT Continued
Got the motons installed and the wevo semi solid mounts in. Still need to fine tune the ride height and such, but the main install is done. Old mounts stuck waaaay down there. Wevos next to the OEM mount. You can get one side out without disassembling anything, but the other side isn’t coming out, so start pulling stuff out of the way. Going after the front suspension. GT3….seats and rollbar
Getting ready to install a T-equipment rollbar, harnesses, and GT3 seats into a……GT3. Basic oil change and brake fluid flush will be included as well. Stay tuned, I am waiting for some mounting hardware for the rollbar.
