Knocked out a few cars today in the 95 degree heat 🙂  Thankfully, between the cooler morning hours and the garage, I stayed fairly cool.  Tomorrows project….plumbing an ac vent into the garage….muhahaha.  Should be a nice short term fix until I install a separate AC unit for the garage. Have a car in today for a turbo and ecu upgrade.  2002 996TT with 70k+ miles on it.  The old turbos are starting to show signs of leakage, so time to upgrade to a little more power.  Turbos and programming came from Tony at EPL. First thing to do is to raise up the rear of the car and get it supported on jackstands safely.  I always block the front wheels as well, since your drivewheels and parking brake wheels …

What is a Pre-Purchase Inspection, and why would you want one?  The names says it all.  An inspection made before purchasing a car, to help point out the pro’s and con’s of the car you are about to purchase.  The inspection should be done by someone who really knows the car being inspected.  In other words, having a Honda mechanic inspect a Porsche, might not be the best idea.  He might catch some obvious things that need attention, but might …

The Porsche 968, 944S2 and 944 S all used dual overhead cams, unlike the previous 8v engines.  This also introduces a slightly different maintenance schedule for the cam system.  The 8v engines were all more or less cam maintenance free, with the exception of oil seal replacements as they started to leak.  The DOHC heads though, all have tensioners, oil feed pipes, cam chains, and tensioner pads to worry about.  The 944 line is fairly basic in terms of maintenance.  …
