Cleaning house, and realized that this post never hit the press!   Actually an August post I had written and must have hit the wrong button when I was done! Did some suspension work on an Audi A4 here the other day.  We replaced all the front control arms (all 8 of them!), as well as new tie rod assemblies.  The owner was getting some clunking in the suspension and decided to get it all refreshed before it got any worse.  …

Brought in a freind’s Gemballa 996TT for some maintenance 🙂 Never mind the skinny minny wheels on the car, they were only there for the track, lol.  If you haven’t read about Uwe Gemballa, he was found after many months in South Africa dead.  Turns out he was in bed with the wrong people.  Note to self….don’t steal a million bucks from the Russians and skip town.  Oil Change….rag stops any mess when removing the filter 🙂 Anddddd another stiff clutch …

Lol, had a freind drop his 993 off the other night to replace a noisy alternator bearing…..or belt sensor roller……or fan bearing…..oh hell just replace it all! I endured the scorching heat to pull the fan and housing out of the car so he could spruce up the color a little bit. Tim’s process is the use a high temp duplicolor paint. Multiple coats of paint, then you need to heat it up to cure the paint. So Tim uses …

3,075lbs and 176″ long………soon.

Time for another summary post! I have been tied up with projects and haven’t had time to get the blog updated. Last week a freind brought over his track prepped S2. Extremely well set up car, but it was ready for a belt job and a few other misc. items to get it back up to par. The patient on the operating table. Even though the belts only had about 9k miles on them, it had also been about 8 …

Finally had a few minutes this week to do a last minute repair on my front splitter for next weekend’s DE. I arrived at a gator about 12 inches too early at MAM a few weeks ago, dropped the front right wheel into a pothole, and the splitter caught the edge of the gator, breaking a piece off. The problem, is that the splitter is made of unobtanium, so I decided to do a quick repair to get me through …

Arrived today 🙂 What is it going in? Wait and see, as soon as it comes off the boat, we will start modifying 🙂 Also on the way are a couple of Schroth 6 point harnesses (hans)

It was service time, so up on ramps she goes. Castrol TWS oil. Porsche guys think your mobil 1 is expensive? You have no idea. After draining the oil out the bottom, the filter was next. On the bolt holding the cap on, there is an o ring to replace, as well as a aluminum seal ring Since the filter housing is right there and upright, you can add almost a quart of oil to the housing/filter to reduce oil …

A few posts ago I had talked about a convertible top problem on a 996. There were 2 issues, the first being the latch mechanism that kept running in circles, and then the passenger side flap was slightly out of time with everything else, cause it to hang up slightly when the top was opened. I finally got the latch trim piece in so repair was underway. The new piece.  The tip has to operate the microswitch, if it is …

Finally got around to installing the GMG headers and center muffler section on the GT3RS. Overall differences in weights were minimal. The OE headers/cats were sighly lighter than the GMG headers and the GMG center section was lighter than the OE center section slightly.  The sound at idle is slightly louder, but very civil.  The sound at 4500rpms when the valves open on the stock mufflers, is incredible!  Getting started:  We also have a set of quad laser intercepters to …
