Knocked out a corner balance on a track prepped 997S today.  The car was set up pretty good last year, but this year the owner decided to pull the supercharger off, and remove the A/C to make a lighter car, which of course messed up our weight distributions on the car.  Scales showed the car came in just under 3050lbs. Well, not really, but since we needed a new theme for a customer’s white 87 944 turbo, we decided to go with the Brumos theme.  Underground Autosport here in town have built it’s matching sister, a very lightweight (2250lbs) 8V NA 944, with turbo body kit.  You can find these cars battling it out at your local midwest track throughout the season 🙂  Thanks to Mark Sherwood for the fantastic job on the graphics! The Porsche 968, 944S2 and 944 S all used dual overhead cams, unlike the previous 8v engines.  This also introduces a slightly different maintenance schedule for the cam system.  The 8v engines were all more or less cam maintenance free, with the exception of oil seal replacements as they started to leak.  The DOHC heads though, all have tensioners, oil feed pipes, cam chains, and tensioner pads to worry about.  The 944 line is fairly basic in terms of maintenance.  …
