We had a good but wet weekend at the formula one track Circuit Of The americas in Austin last weekend. Had not been on this track before, but what an amazingly smooth track. A couple of laps off the Go Pro…. A little faster on Sunday.

Friday we headed up to MAM for fast fridays to do some testing on the Boxster. Thursday the guys finished the wrap on the car and it looks incredible. Everything went as planned and ran great. Car is very fast, significantly faster than 001.

Got a lot of stuff knocked out on the Spec Boxster build this week. Tomorrow we meet with the graphics guys bright and early to figure out a design for the car. Man I miss the white car. Seat installed, fire extinguisher system finished, lightweight battery and kill switch installed, window nets, gauges, etc. I did remove the passenger seat floor mount (lots of spot weld drilling!), and that allowed a lot more flexibility for mounting the coolshirt cooler and …

Over the last couple of weeks I have been scouring the countryside for a decent 99 boxster to build into another customer SPEC Boxster Race Car. After numerous trips and failed PPI’s, we finally found a 45k mile car in Omaha a few weeks ago and retrieved it. I drove it back from Omaha, pulled in the front door and starting tearing it apart. No time to waste! Tan interior is in great shape and for sale 🙂 I pulled …

Well, it has been a long fun project, but kind of running out of things to do. I am sure we will continue to make weight reduction changes as we go, but for now, I have run out of things to do 🙁 Finished installing the kill switch, routing the cable through the cowl which allows everything to sit under the drainage covers nicely. Again, maybe all this stuff will go in the future, but we will wait on that …

The Boxster is back in the house and almost ready to go! Really happy with the way the paint on the cage turned out. I am down to installing the fire suppression system and after that it is ready to go!

Ok, maybe one more before they tell me to stop 🙂 Got the call today and picked up the Spec Boxster from the cage builder. Pretty stoked on how it turned out. Now to paint the cage and start knocking off a few final finishing items. With the cage in place, I had to do some notching to make the dash fit again which wasn’t a big deal. While the dash was back out (removed for cage install), I took …

Finally seeing the end in sight for a little while anyway. With a HPDE/Club race coming up this weekend, I finally got the car corner balanced, aligned, and the rear trunk lid secured. We also had the wrap crew come out and get the car looking like a race car. Today we will load it up, head to the track for some final tuning, and then bring it back and finish the cage this winter in preparation for racing next …

Finally got a couple big boxes of fun in the mail today 🙂 Mmmmm suspension parts 🙂 Swift 450/500 rate springs for our PSS9’s, bigger sway bars, custom drop links, adjustable GT3 control arms, and exhaust. Hard to believe so much money in such a small amount of parts, but they are going to be what really transforms the handling of the car 🙂 So apart it comes. Since I had not done the front driver wheel bearing, this was …
